Despite entering their first-ever European adventure, Crystal Palace are learning at a rapid pace. Without star players like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the London club left Dublin with a comfortable result that all but guarantees them a spot in the Europa Conference League playoffs.
A further three points in their upcoming fixture against Finland's KuPS ought to be enough to secure straight passage to the last 16, especially following a prior setback against Strasbourg.
Squad Members Grasp the Moment
This match provided a chance for several Palace's lesser-used talent to impress. Christantus Uche, making only his second beginning after arriving on loan from Getafe, notched the account with a clinical finish. Forward Eddie Nketiah added a another, finding the net for the second consecutive match.
The Shelbourne team that had finished their domestic season proved outmatched against a largely rotated Palace lineup. The visitors were already weakened by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are out with knee injuries.

Following the break, coach Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to withdraw key individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse almost scoring with his first touch, but saw his effort blocked.
Esse was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one attempt strike off both posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also blazed a glaring chance, indicating there is still room for improvement in his game.
The only concern for Palace was a late knock to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This allowed 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to earn his senior debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect evening for the visiting side.
