In a bizarre collaboration that challenges conventional predictions, Ubisoft has revealed an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, including complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Questline Uncovered

According to the formal statement, "An unusual meeting draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where hints of forbidden ceremonies and terrifying metamorphoses reverberate through the darkness." The plot features a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a secret sect.

The mission centers on "bizarre tests and a monstrous enemy" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Iconic Locations and Metamorphoses

The teaser highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The trailer concludes with a striking sequence showing a character, presumably the hostage, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Prizes and Extra Content

Players who accomplish the quest will receive an exclusive katana alongside numerous items secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

Latest Free Story Addition

This update also introduces the game's third no-cost story content, titled "The Enigma." Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a fresh environmental puzzle that may finally shed light on some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

This marks not the initial time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with well-known anime series. The series previously featured a 2020 collaborative story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Furthermore, Valhalla subtly included a quest that obviously echoed the well-known series One-Punch Man.
